The biggest beer fest in the United States is coming to Denver, Colorado this summer. It will feature some of the biggest names in beer and a multitude of other products from around the world. The event will take place July 1st through July 8th.
The event is called “Great American Beer Festival,” and they’ll be sending a special “Beer Fest America” theme beer to a number of countries. The theme will be “America the Beautiful,” which is a nod to that beautiful state of Colorado. The beer festival is a huge deal in Denver because they are hosting the largest beer event in the US, and they have a long history there.
As a Colorado native, I have to say I’m excited for this event. It’s the first beer celebration I’ve ever been to where I’m allowed to buy beer. I’m pretty sure the only other beer festival I’ve been to was in Colorado but that was only because my wife and I were on vacation. The rest of the state is just a bit farther away, so I’m excited to see what it’s all about.
Well I have to say, Colorado is far away from me. I’ve seen some pictures of it on Google Maps but Im not sure how far it is from Denver. I have no idea. I just hope it’s closer than you think.
Its a few hours drive, but I bet that the beer festival doesn’t take that long from Denver to you. Just like a lot of other things, I think a lot of the people who attend can’t wait to get out of the city. They come for the beer, and it’s also a major part of the reason why the festival is such a blast.
In 2017 the Denver International Beer Festival had a total of 5,825 participants. This year there are over 11,000, so there is a good chance that the 2016 Denver event will reach double digits. The event is a three day festival, which means a lot of beer-drinking and beer-eating. There is a massive line-up of events, from the biggest breweries all the way down to the smallest microbreweries.
The beer festival is really just the event part. The rest of the event is really about the beer, which is served at both the festival’s main and smaller stages. On the main stage, you can also buy and drink beer from dozens of restaurants and breweries like Dogfish Head, Anchor Brewing, and A&W. On the smaller stages there are also food trucks and live music, so there is no shortage of fun.
Beer festivals aren’t exactly common in the United States. It’s also a good time to look around at some of the larger breweries in your area, but that’s a great way to start. We’re just a little bit too young to see the full scope of the festival, but that’s how we’ve done it in recent years.
